    Hi guys.

Just checking in to let you know that yes, I am doing better. Thank you

    all

for your inspiration and advice. I got fitday pc (it seemed better than
updating both the atkins site and the fitday site, and I can use it
offline), and started to go easier on myself on carbs, moving them up a

    bit.

(I even had some cherry pie on thanksgiving, woot!)

I'm still not having citric acid and it appears to help, I've lost 2 lbs
since my first post, so I'm doing something right. I thought about it the
other day and the first time I did Atkins I stalled too, which is why I

    got

off. I was sucking down diet coke like crazy then, so it was probably the
    citric acid then too.

I'm still exercising and finding it's getting easier and I'm finding

    myself

difficulty level slowly, and finding the accomplishment satisfying. :-)

One thing I am finding that is renewing my interest and enthusiasm for
    Atkins is by reading
the copy of The Atkins Essentials I found at the used bookstore the other
day. I highly recommend it to anyone who is on Atkins and getting
discouraged or anyone who is just starting out.

For that matter staying at 20 is
well into the top reasons that people stall.

Agreed; this was my experience too. I wish I had some idea of why,
though. Do you have any idea why?

The simplist answer: Because following the directions works better
than doing what you want and hoping for the best. Every single plan
out there increases carbs in their standard process.

For the chemistry of why it happens, look for studies of very low
carb diets and what happens to T3 thyroid levels. Eat too little
carb and the body cuts T3 in response. That drives metabolism
down and triggers a stall. Best loss is at right-size carbs not
    at the lowest possible amount.

Thanks again guys for talking sense into me.

It's not the citric acid. It's that you are eating too much food and
    not exercising enough.
