I wouldn't say gungho, but the way I see it, is life is a big greasy portion
of fish and chips, and danger is the salt and vinegar. It'll kill you in the
end but it just doesn't taste good without it.
Seriously though, when I do a big walk I always take a rope and asorted gear
(a few krabs, slings etc). Not so much for me, but if I could possibly help
somebody else that's fallen, it's worth taking. I also own four ice axes,
and two pairs of crampons, for my winter experiences. See, not so gungho
afterall but a good old blizzard doesn't half satisfy me. The bad
weather/first pint table increases in a linear fashion.

perfected my lamp post climbing technique and some buildings offer
interesting problems.
