Well, not QUITE hopeless........since if I felt entirely hopeless I wouldn't be posting here at all.
I have a chronic illness which doesn't allow me to do much in the way of exercise, as it causes me
to have much more pain and fatigue than I can handle. I try to do 20 minutes on the treadmill every
other day or so. Two months ago I broke my ankle and have not been able to do anything.......that,
coupled with plying myself with "comfort" foods to get through the frustration of being
incapacitated has caused a big weight gain. I have not been back to ww for an official weigh -in but
my home scale shows about a 10-15 lbs gain! Yes. I KNOW that chocolate doesn't really help the pain
and swelling of an ankle injury.....but of course I HAD to give it a try!
The Doc said I could try going back on the treadmill, but then I got the flu and have been too sick
to do it. But NOT too sick to EAT whatever I feel like! Each day I PLAN to write down my points and
each day I DON'T. I feel miserable, partake of the "comfort" foods, then feel depressed because I
can't exercise and can't seem to curb my eating. I am desperate to get back on my healthy eating
plan and lose the newly gained lbs.......but just can't seem to do it.
The only reason I don't feel completely hopeless is because I know that you all are here ready to
offer support and that if I just get back on here reading and posting that I CAN find the motivation
to get going again. It looks grim to me now......but I know I can turn it around, and with your
help, succeed.
I will commit to reading and posting everyday, joining the NYNY challenge, the HHH challenge, and
Journaling my points daily as well. I'll go back to WW for an official Weigh-in tomorrow. That
sounds like a tough order given my mind state at the moment, but I know from past experience that if
I ACT motivated, I can actually BECOME motivated!
Thank you all for being here and letting me ramble on,
Billie (who is changing HOPEless to HOPEful even as we speak)
