The article I referred to (can send it) actually reviews several studies
done into triathlon esp ironman. In these studies, overall nutrition
    was considered.

    Mmmmm, bananas.

Good that some have looked at the whole picture.
Pitty that dehydration gets so much attention yet there is minimal awareness of hyponatremia. Need to raise awareness of the need for snacking, not lots of dire warnings in the "popular" press.

Just picked a bunch of Blue Java bananas. Have got 7 plants in yard. Try that in Melbourne !

Someone else mentioned NSAIDS and hyponatremia.

It was me. NSAIDS is a big worry in sport. But my doctors have always
told me not to take it before racing. Hey, does everyone know that most
doctor's databases have an option to list yourself as an elite athlete,
so that they will warn you about banned substances?

Elite Athlete - think I am well past that 56 y.o.
Banned Substances - not a problem. Need to fake a urine test? - This is how its done (Warning not for the kiddies, shows fake naughty bits)

Oi, that ain't fair. If I got ciggies I could trade 'em for something
good, like DVD's or ground coffee for my plunger/drip filter. Hehehehe
