checked out a friend's chinese made xcad bike which was quite impressive
(welds were much better than pix i had seen and frame was well polished altho that doesnt grab me and light as all get out!)
i dug around and looked at the setup of the Litespeed Ghisallo and the Airborne Torch (whom i had heard rumoured xcad build for anyhow).
So figured out all the relevant measurements i needed to give them and emailed them off to their very helpful "Porter".
(i get images of a 'belvedere' type character who is cloned cos he always responds immediately to any email at all hours, any day of the week 😄 )
anyhow, about one hour later i get a reply, along with a CAD drawing of what i had described (i actually gave them the links to the above-mentioned bikes too) in a Word.doc, goes to the 'properties' fields and lo-and-behold they have forgotten to delete the words "Airborne Tor-05"
so, perhaps the rumours are true.
Including a Ti seatpost and all carbon fork (no idea how good/bad that is but too cheap to ignore even as an experiment) seatpost collar, Skewer set and lotsa bolts (bottle bosses, brakebolts, etc) and shipping is $950AUS which is very tempting.
