If the straight up Thomson does not have enough setback I suggest getting the Raceface XY
rather than the setback (bent) post form Thomson. The Raceface has the best clamp system ever
developed IMO.

I ride the Thomson already-- excellent, no problems. I am trying to find a "race only" stem, and the
ones I mentioned are half the weight of the Thomson. The Use dertainly doesnt seem very trustworthy.

I guess I should explain why. I've bent a Titec seatpost before, and it was while racing. So, what
I'm saying is this....if you're going to race, race with reliable gear that will get you to the
finish line.

I saw a broken Easton carbon seatpost a couple of weeks ago.The jagged remnants sticking out looked
perfect for taking a core sample of your nuts. Personally I cant understand why you'd want to put
carbon fibre parts on a mountain bike when their failure will put you in serious risk.

looked perfect for taking a core sample of your nuts.

Exactly why I'm asking if this particular product has a rep for failing. Was that on a hard
tail or f/s?

Not all carbon fiber parts fail within unreasonable time. I have a RF air carbon bar that has been
heavily used for 3 years now, no problemo. Just trying to find a seatpost of similar quality if
possible. Also inquired about a titanium post as well...

If you're going to buy Titec, get the knock rated stuff, at least they will replace it no questions
asked. Of course their knock rated stuff is so heavy you probably won't bend or break it anyway.
