He looked awful today. He looks uncomfortable all of a sudden, saddle to high etc. Maybe he is clean after all?? Same as valverde, compare him now to when he beat Armstrong.

....& you KNOW this how?...Valverde probably peaked a little early, had a great TT in the Dauphine & then won the Spanish champs. It's almost impossible to hold a 'peak' for any length of time, so you'd realistically not be wanting to be peaking for a 3 week tour, much more than a week or so before hand. It's generally accepted that most guys 'ride themselves in' the 1st few days of a 3 week tour....but valverde hit it like he was superman!...tactically, I think they made an error...but he's always promised much more at the TDF than he's ever delivered, so maybe he figured he needed to 'shoot his load' early, cos the others were gunna catch up pretty quickly

Both are riding like [censored] and both can't keep up. I'm willing to bet that both these guys names were under the suspect list and they didn't want to be caught so they decided to do nothing and pay the price. Valverde knew he wasn't going to win the tour without any help, hence why he attacked early to get a stage win and the yellow jersey. However, he has another attack left in the tank and that's tonight on the alp.

Grater has been consistently a fanboy of T-Mobile, High Road, now Team Columbia for more than two years now.... so I don't think he's deliberately baiting here with provocatively biased posts just to get a response and a laugh. Though that is hard to believe.... when he predicts Team Columbia to finish 1,2,3 on nearly every stage and to make up most of the break group, and for Kirchen to climb past everyone to win mountain stages.

The irony is that if he had correctly predicted the top three today, and sent it to cyclingnews, he could have had a chance of winning a Columbia jersey (yeah, the actual chance is small due to the thousands who send their e-mail). Too bad that his obsession with Columbia precludes him from winning a Columbia jersey.

Geez Crank....I thought you were starting to learn a few things....how hard could that be to predict....any flat stage with the form that Cav is in, he's gunna be a chance, particularly with THAT leadout team!...& the lack of serious opposition...the fact that Ciolek is also a handy sprinter & also benefits from being in that 'train' meant that he wasn't the worst chance of being on the podium anyway...now if Grater called something that wasn't obvious....
