  1. These have been down since I found out about their existence a couple
of weeks ago - anybody have any idea how long its been and if/when they
    are likely to be back?

Failing that, are there any other good sites with local buy/sell for
second hand bikes? UpMyStreet doesn't handle this sort of stuff any
more and not many people seem to use craigslist in the UK.

    Cheers,
    cam

Haven't a clue on both counts. You are not missing much though.

UpMyStreet used the content of www.adtrader.co.uk

There's also some buy/sell content at the Cycling Plus web site

I'm pretty sure I looked at the advertising forum about 3 weeks ago.
They probably went down /just/ before you found out about them.

The site states that they will be back, but not when:
"The CTC Message Board & Members' Login are temporarily out of service
due to a fault. We hope to be able to resume this service shortly"

Two weeks seems like an unacceptably long time for them to be down, though.

Perhaps they've taken on the membership renewals and new member sign ups
and are down just to make the process seem the same.

I'll take a look here too, thanks.

They went down just over a week ago.. I e-mailed about it, but got no
response. I noticed this appear on the CTC site a few days ago:

"** The CTC Message Board & Members' Login are temporarily out of
service due to a fault. We hope to be able to resume this service
    shortly**"

I rang them up last week because I have moved house and my membership
renewal probably went to the old house. Their system for dealing with
    membership was down then too.
