  1. I don't need to do anything.
I don't need a book. They can only take you so far
and then something more must happen.
    I''m my own nutritionist.

Shouldn't the body make enough cholesterol
    on its own?

Show me where I am wrong silly little rob

The body should do a lot of things and when it doesn't that is called
disease. The body not at ease.
If the body were healthy then you wouldn't need intervention. If the body
were healthy by your definition then it wouldn't have produced a high
cholesterol. It was your bodies handling of dietary cholesterol and
endogenous cholesterol production by your body that screwed it up. You are
now over compensating by depriving your body of nutrients in order to
control that one single cholesterol problem. This deprivation you call the
    body curing itself.

    Congrats, Nick!

Do we really need to lower cholesterol levels so low as 133!!
They keep on narrowing the cholesterol guide lines to promote
cholesterol lowering drugs . The drug companies lobby for
making easy money . These days some doctors are recommending
Zocar to every diabetic to avoid the risk of heart attack .

I got mine down to the 110-120 level (through diet and exercise--after
getting a metabolic syndrome diagnosis in 2000), and it is still there. On
the last blood work I had done for a life insurance policy, they flagged me
for low cholesterol (their limits were 130-[censored]). I don't think they held it
    against me though ;-)

Oh yeah, my HDL to LDL is 1:1

    Sure.
But the real question is, "Why do I feel better?"
Because my cholesterol is lower, I doubt that.
Because I lost 100 lbs., yep, that is likely the reason.

If you were obese that is OK but otherwise one feels lot of

Congratulations, you are now a prime candidadte for a hemorrhagic
    stroke.

I can think of worse ways to go.

The thing is that you might not go. You might simply stay as a
vegetable. And given cholesterol's role as brain food and as precursor
to several important sex hormones, like DHEA and progesterone, you'll
have a lousy life, even if stroke free. At least, expect depression
and anxiety to be a problem.

    Good luck!

  12. Fish oil supplements, combined with a "healthy" vegetarian diet, flax
seed added to some whey shakes or cereal, etc. will do the trick. But
you don't need to give up dairy!

Pay no attention to those sarcastic flesh eaters (cannibals). It's no
sacrifice to give up meat. It's liberating! We don't need meat to be
    healthy!

    Good for you Nick!

I had my cholesterol tested at 220 total in the begining. I first tried

decided to become a vegatarian to control it more. After a few months
of getting rid of dairy and red meat and poultry my total cholesterol
    is now stabalized at 133.

No need for drugs. I let my body do it!

Yes I can see that your diet certainly gives you no pleasure. Are you

Changing my diet isn't a deprevation.
On the contrary I sense no problem at all.
If something was wrong with my diet my body
would have told me. I don't have to hear it from
    you!

Like I said the body can make its own.
Its non essential. Show me differently.

I'll let my body do what its made to do.

    You can keep your drugs.

  20. Kam, after eating the omega 3 fish for a year
or so I noticed my mind/brain was stronger!!!

    I could tell a difference.
