In my opinion, the chain is still OK to keep in service, but it is
showing enough wear to merit checking on a regular basis. The fact
that it still shifts OK is not an indicator of suitablility for
continued use; many worn-out chains will still shift well. The
important thing is to replace it before the chain's wear starts to
increase the rate of wear of the sprockets.
