    It wasn't an issue with the square tapered bottom brackets. Greasing
    doesn't lead to overtightening. I've done it for years and have yet
    to have any kind of a problem. I tighten the crankarm bolts to ~25lb/ft
    (yes, I use a torque wrench because I don't do this often enough to get
    an idea of what it's like with a regular wrench).
