Due to vacation planning at work, and trying to coordinate with a few
people, I am trying to plan out a schedule for next summer.(Plus it will put
things into perspective for my training).
My question is, what is a good space between races to allow for recovery? I
figure I am in good enough condition right now that I could complete(no idea
how well I would do, but I could finish) what is known as a
Try-A-tri(300-400m swim, 10-15Kbike, and 2.5-3k run). Just to get
accustomed to transition, etc., I plan on making my first race one of those,
but I also think that a good 6 months for training would allow to do Sprints
somewhat ok.
I am looking at a total of 4 or maybe 5 races, spaced out close to a month
apart, with one exception if I were to compete.
Am I overdoing the recovery time? Assuming no other considerations, what is
an optimum time between races, or at least a minimum period between races?
Thanks.
