A Campag-compatible cassette tool can be used for the new-style Centaur BB.

Dang! VBG I did not think I would be lucky enough to have the same
tool fit both BB cartridges.

I was not planning on using the Veloce crankset on a Shimano spindle
or vice versus. I am trying to switch groupsets on two bicycles.

I ran into another slight snag. The bolt that holds the bb cable guide
is so long it prevents the cartrige from lining up. On top of that the
Phillips head bolt is frozen, I'll have to carefully grind the exposed
bolt on the inside of the bb down tomorrow with a Dremel tool.

Thanks for the confirmation about the incompatability of the cartrige
tools.

Dear Sir

I think I would remove the frozen Philips head screw, rather than
grind it down. Eventually it will have to be removed, regardless.
1st I would try a good penetrating oil over night. Raping it a few
times w/ a hammer to hopefully help vibrate it loose. Then retry w/ a
Phillips head screwdriver. Being careful not to strip the screw head
out. If that doesn't work (It probably won't) try a small electric
impact driver. I have a very cheap Craftsman, that amazes me w/ it's
ability to remove stuck screws. If that doesn't work, I'd try drilling
out the screw & using an EZ Out or some such.
One more thought, if the screw is sticking into the BB by enough to
get a good purchase w/ a small channel lock or small Vice Grip, try
breaking it loose that way, if it brakes loose, then retighten it &
cut the threads damaged by the channel lock, if necessary, w/ a short
hack saw blade not mounted in a frame.

If all this fails, then I'd grind it down w/ a Dremel tool.

If you remove the screw, coat the new shorter one w/ anti seize, so
this doesn't happen again in a few years & I think I'd use an Allen
head screw, if possible.
