There I was, cycling along the main road into Dereham, and there's a junction on my right. People driving... cycling on that road have to give way to the traffic on the road I'm on. But oh no, not blind bat in a silver estate car. Oh no, not her. She pulled right out in front of me even though I had looked at her in the eye and she looked straight back *at me* - the fool still pulled out. At least she then realised the error of her ways as she stopped halfway across the carriageway, with a look of "Ooh-err! Didn't think cyclists could cycle more than 10mph!" Foolish woman!

I wonder if she's the same one that cut in front of me yesterday to make a left turn. I had to brake sharply to avoid going under her back wheel. I caught up with her and told her what I thought and she said "well I didn't knock you down so what's the problem?"

Have you considered the possibility that the two things may be related? You are now so slim that people just don't see you. Go out and treat yourself to a nice large slice of chocolate fudge cake dripping with fresh cream before we all stop noticing that you are there.

I had one of those today - a twunt in a silver merc (is it a silver car thing, I wonder?) at Hyde Park Corner. I was coming round from Knightsbridge down to Grosvenor Place and clearly taking the lane. He was entering the roundabout from Piccadilly and tried to cut straight across my bow. Fortunately, I have good brakes.
What is it with these pillocks? Do they think the Give Way signs don't apply to bikes?
I came *that* close to deliberately taking out his wing mirror by way of revenge ... but thought better of it.

I had an old guy walk across a fairly unbusy road and try to walk right across my path after having looked straight at me. A swift OI! averted what could have been a very nasty impact but I'm damn sure he expected me to slow down, let him cross and ride on behind him.
I was so close to having words with an obviously able-bodied person parking on a disabled space today. Before you say I'm jumping to conclusions, I know she's not disabled, she lives next door to me.

Thanks, Sandy. The really hard bit for me will be the long term keeping it off. It isn't a "diet" but a thing I have to be able to keep doing long term.
