Every time I see the subject line I wonder "how did they turn the beef

LOL! The way they turn lead into gold? :-)

I eat snails *and* oysters. But I hate squash and all its relatives.

<High Five> And add beets and liver in the "I hate" column, while
    you're at it.

I like pickled beets, but not plain cooked ones. My DH cooks liver so that
it is delicious. Lots of onions and bacon, and the liver is poached rather
    than fried.

I can enjoy clams in moderation (except that

Hey, don't you go dissin' our geoducks. You don't want to get them mad.

Charlie, have you ever eaten geoduck? It's better than clams, IMHO...

Most people call these "beef stroganoff" and "beef bourguignon".

I call them "Beef Stroganoff" and "Beef Burgundy." There are way too many
    vowels in that other thing.

Not to mention that if you're going to the trouble of saying "bourguignon,"
you might as well also say, "boeuf."

No indeed Julian! I fear them. Quite possibly they are an ET lifeform.

There are connections here, if you have the proper twisted mind. Rocky
Mountain Oysters are a beef product. And if you have ever seen a
geoduck, you can easily understand that it could serve as a substitute
for the (ahem) missing component of the RMOs.

In the interests of good taste I will not attach the "serving
    suggestion" photograph...

I was wondering that myself. :-)

I confess, I searched the Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe's web site for
a photo of the giant they've got -- I was hoping to post a link to
tease Charlie with. What can you say about a shop that sells both
homemade fudge AND shrunken heads... <grin>
