fwiw i'm not sponsored, nor is my team. in australia unless you are on a domestic or pro continental squad you are basically on your own.
with my last build, which i'll post a pic of later, i had a reasonably open budget. i could have have DA, Force or Chorus. if i'd wanted full Red or Record, i'd probably have had to round up a few more pennies. i made a *choice* to use Force, after riding it for a year on my primary race bike, when really i could have had anything i wanted. i've ridden that bike in the past 4 weeks to 2 seconds, a third and 2 fourths. so i'd say performance wise it's doing just fine.
