Agreed on all points, but I also don't think this is the place for the
discussion.

Light beer is such a waste of time. My current favorite:

I gotta check that one out. Stone in general is becoming my favorite
brewery.

I am so not an IPA drinker. The hoppier stuff just doesn't appeal to me. I'm
into the wittbiers right now, but since I'm cutting way down on carbs, I'm
getting about three beers a week.

Maybe you should switch to light beer so you can drink more? (evil
grin)

BTW, this IPA is not as hoppy as most and is a lot more powerful as
well.

Why? That's like so 90s.

Like I said, it's so 90s. Check out current dietary research, cut back on
all calories making the reduction more efficient by eating nutritious foods
that keep your appetite suppressed for longer. Whether beer meets that
criteria is another matter.

It's fantastic. I think O'Neil owes me one. BTW, are you going to
ride this Saturday? We can get some Stones for post-ride.

How does it compare to Dog Fish Head 90 and 120 IPA's?
Those are some tasty, strong beers.

Damn, that stuff looks good. I haven't seen it around here. I'd sure like
to try that 120 but I'd settle for a 90.

Beer - nutrition. Nutrition - beer. ??? I don't get the connection.

Shrub needs help tying his shoes. But oil's got "nothing" to do with it.
Al Qaeda is now about leading us Islam, or killing us. Maybe if we
vacated the area they'd get tired after a few years and stick to their
local flock, but who knows?

Besides, I *want* them destroyed. I'd say cut Iraq loose if there
weren't serious consequences, one of them being that AQ has set up in Anbar.

If FDR fought fascism the way Bush fights terrorism, we'd all be
speaking German now.

Why do you assume anyone calling for a change is ignorant? Better
question: why do you assume Shrub or Rumsfeld will ever pull their heads
out of their asses? And why do you assume defeating radical Islam is
their top priority?

I called it (Iraq) a bad idea from the beginning. "Books will be written
about the failures of the Bush Administration," says Condie Rice.
Nothing is going as our "leaders" said it would. What we are doing is
not working.

What we are doing is not working.

What we are doing is not working.

Now, if we had leadership that actually listened and adapted, and, you
know, LEAD, people like me who give a damn and know some things wouldn't
have to get in so many faces. (Those faces do NOT include sand squid and
anyone else doing the work. If a soldier disagrees with me, we might
argue. But I show them no hint of disrespect, because it's not there.)

They always were, and always will be about that. It's in their
charter.

Anyone who's read their mission statement and charter knows. This is
NOT a group that can be negotiated with or pacified with anything
short of a world conversion to a Taliban-like society. I'm guessing
most of us would prefer that didn't happen...

I'm not. I'm saying that those who claim to know more about local
conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan are ignorant.

Hey, for all I know lunch is their top priority. Other than that, all
I can do is go by what they CLAIM is their top priority. And it's
hard to imagine one that's higher right now.

But my participation in this thread has gone on long enough (as has
the thread). Again, I heartily thank John for his service to our
country, and welcome him home. History will prove GWB right or wrong
on his approach to the radical Islam problem, no matter what political
expediency says today.

Oh, I'm up on the new research. Just cutting out beer isn't the only change
to my diet and activities.

Beer means chips and salsa or popcorn to go with. That's my problem.

Glenn D., grappa is fine by itself.
