So how exactly do i get faster?
I ride my ass off... am i on the right track? Its my first serious year... but its a ton of fun! Theres no races around here.... but i think with the end in mind. Whats that mean? Well, one day i will... and i'll be prepared!

Intervales and group rides. Those are key. When I ride with a group it pushes me untill I get droped. That is how you get stronger. With intervals do them for like a mile hard then 30 secounds rest then a mile hard and so on. then just start uping the mile and lowering the 30 secounds. Don't get to agresive or it won't work very well.

    Hey,

[indent]I was just wondering how fast other teens around my age average for say, an hour. I'm 15, and i'm not on a team/club, and i average around 17.5mph for an hour over rolling terrain. I just want to see how i compare with others my age.

Im 16 turning 17 at the end of the year. I try not to look at average speeds but the majority of the time for a casual rolling ride I'll be at around 30kph (19mph?). In the last few years I havent averaged less than 27 on a ride because it annoys me going that speed, mid you it gets pretty close to that when I'm doing hill work. Did 180 k last year with the boys and it took me just over 6 hours. So I'd definitely say 30kph/(19mph?). You sound like you're having fun which is the main thing, don't get hooked on averages and stuff like that because it will just take away from your riding. The best thing you can do for yourself is to find a bunch to ride with if possible. At your age it will make you ride at speeds your most likely not used to and you'll improve out of sight. Good luck.

  4. Wow im 15 and I average around 19-20 mph on a rolling hill terrain.

  5. I'm 17 and I do 22+mph solo and my second group ride today we did 50 miles and the average was over 28mph. I also just got picked up by a team today 😎

  6. Going to race on a team, 14 years old, best I have ever done is a 26 MPH average for about 20 miles.

  7. I average around 16-17 on rolling terrane

  8. I'm 14 and can average about 17mph over 30miles, been riding for about 6 months
