Athena crank on SR spindle

The spindle is not symmetrical and longer(114mm), like the 111mm
spindle that the Athena is designed for, so the right side will be
farther out affecting chainline and front der action.

If it's a real Super record bottom bracket it isn't compatable with
other Campy BBs. To start, different ball size.

Agree, but if the OP can figure out chainline and front der action, a
Super/Nuevo Record bb *should* fit an Athena/Daytona/Centaur crank,
i.e., same taper....

Actually, this cheap friend has now been convinced to buy a cheap Veloce BB.

Would it work to flip the spindle around left to right?

If you find a 111mm spindle, like from Record, Chorus, CDA or Athena,
with the same center section dimensions as the SR..but the simplest
solution is use a Campagnolo AC-H(alloy cups, hollow spindle) in
111mm...about $25.
