So if lactic acid isn't making me sore, what is? And why does massage help?

I think a massage helps just about any condition, don't ya think?

Soreness from microlesions of your muscle. But that theory is from
when I was last in school several years back.

    Dunno about massage.

Massage facilitates blood flow, just as stretching after
excercise. The increased oxygen in the muscles help
them recover. At least this is from physiology school
    from a looooong time ago...

    Sounds plausible.
