Argus 2003 - Results and Discussions

Come Guys help me out here

If I go into the cycletour website and look up my results I only get a time and no position.
This after a week !

Am I doing something wrong or are the positions still outstanding !?

Leon

Leon,

Surely, at some point during the race, you looked down at your feet and ankles?

Remember that yellow lump of plastic attached to your right ankle?

It was a WinningTime chip!! Does this satisfactorily answer your question?

WinningTime have still not proven themselves to the cycling public and this latest round of missing results merely reinforces the public's perception of their poor and tardy service.

The Argus web site says the following on the results pages:

"Please note that although provisional positions have been calculated for the results produced by WinningTime, the organisers have chosen not to display these until queries have been finalised. Final positions will be displayed on the site from midday, Monday 31 March."

So ... not a WinningTime problem.

We've waited this long, what's another couple of days! ;) :D

Well done all of you!

My Argus was significantly better than the previous year - no snapping of spokes, punctures etc .... was nearly involved in a crash between Fishhoek and Simonstown but managed to go past on the side.

Managed to complete the event in 3:24. The fact that I started in group L (as appose to BB last year) also helped a great deal. Hopefully next year I can start in H or so.

Go and have a look here. http://www.pedalpower.co.za/seeds.asp .
It looks like they have already started working out in wich group you will start in the 2004 Argus using '03 results. Offcourse it's not final but it's very interesting and they have more info than cycletour.co.za

That is actually your indicative seeding for Pedal Power events in the Cape - your current seeding is re -evaluated very two years (next in July 2003) or you can ask for a reseeding earlier than that if your riding improves / goes backwards

It is not your Argus seeding which is based on your best result in a seeding event (details of these on cycle tour site)

hope that makes sense

Hey guys (and chi....girls), go to www.actionphoto.net and go and view your picture (if you had you number on).

PS: I found this very interesting. Did you know that the owner of WT is also the Chairman of the PPA, co-chairman of the Cape Argus Cycle challenge and I'm not sure if it is a member or trustee of the Cape Cycling trust (or something like that). I read this in the new Bicycling magazine.

This is me and my nephew on the starting line. (Last time we were smiling ;) ) Check out my "number plate". :D ;)
Sory about writing on the photo, I wonder why they do it? ;)

Hey Lazy Legs

It's a pity some of your smiling joviality didn't rub off on the Group Five groupie standing behind you :p

Mutton

Martinp, yeh I think he was p#$$&d off 'cause we beat him to the ront of the block, he tried to push through on the way to the line but we kept him out. :D

Nice to see the faces of our members.

Actionphoto pi$$ed me off, so I don't support them anymore.

My one and only picture (curse actionphoto...) was taken on Ou Kaapse... I must concede that it looks a bit fake, me being in the drops like that on a rather steep section of the climb... but hey, it's all for the cameras!!!

PS... in case anyone wonders, I actually yelled at the photographer to take my picture while I was posing... seems to work quite well!!!

Let me try again.... hope the *(^!(@#^@#$ thung works thia time
