Please, read through that first, before trying anything, for your
health and safety's sake. (To anyone thinking of trying that
    particular regime.)

Dr Sandra Cabot, MD, has studied liver and gall bladder cleanses for
    many years.

Dr Cabot is not "MD". She calls herself that for marketing purposes.

Really? What is her real degree?

MB,BS. It is a real medical qualification but convention is that you
use the abbreviations in use by the university which awards the
degrees, not something else because it sounds better.

I have been told that in California what she does is actually illegal,
    not just poor etiquette.

By the way, Dr Cabot is no longer licensed to practice medicine in
Australia. I have heard rumours that her removal from the list of
registered practitioners was not voluntary, but details are sketchy
and Australia has savage defamation laws.

certainly is!!! our laws state clearly that one cannot "hold oneself out" to be
what educational preparation ,,licensure and certification demonstrate...

so she also can't go by "liver doc" if she is not board certified in gastro

    hawki.....

Not sure about taking the Ornithine.
I'll have to skip that - I'm against pills unless they are really necessary.
    Did you take the Ornithine?
    Anth

YES!!! It helps you sleep and Hulda states if you do not sleep well the cleanse
    won't be as successful.

Dr Cabot is not "MD". She calls herself that for marketing purposes.

    But, Peter, her website says:

"Dr Cabot graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University
of South Australia in 1975. "

    Doesn't that make a person an "M.D."?????

No, that makes a person "MB,BS". The names and abbreviations of
university degrees are not a matter of personal choice. As an example,
nobody gets a PhD from Oxford. Graduates of that establishment get to
    put "D.Phil" after their names.

Cabot thinks that her customers are too stupid to understand that
different countries and universities have different practices. (Yes, I
know that all words after "stupid" in that sentence are redundant.)

A typical response from the *gang* trying to trash any *outside* of organized
    medicine.

Dr Cabot graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of
South Australia in 1975. As part of her extracurricular medical training, she
studied herbal medicine, acupuncture, homoeopathy and nutritional medicine.
This was considered somewhat unusual for a medical student during this era, as
such treatments were still considered questionable. This did not deter Dr
Cabot’s inquisitive spirit, as at a young age she could see beyond the
    limitations of drug orientated medicine.

Dr Cabot began her medical career in 1980 as a GP Obstetrician-Gynecologist and
practised in Sydney Australia. During the mid 1980s she spent considerable time
working as a volunteer doctor at the Leyman hospital, which was the largest
missionary hospital in India. Here she studied tropical and infectious diseases
and tended to the poor indigenous women with obstetric emergencies.

Dr Cabot returned to Australia in the late 1980’s to resume her practice and
also decided to become an author. Her first book titled “Women’s Health”
was an authoritative holistic health guide. Subsequently she wrote several more
ground breaking books – “Menopause – HRT and its Natural Alternatives”,
“Don’t Let Hormones Ruin Your Life”, “The Body Shaping Diet”, “The
Liver Cleansing Diet”, “The Healthy Liver and Bowel Book”, “Boost Your
Energy”, “Raw Juices can save your Life” and “Can’t lose weight? –
Unlock the secrets that make you store fat.” Her latest book published in
December 2002 is titled “Hormone Replacement – the REAL Truth - Balance
Your Hormones and Swing from the Chandeliers!

Her book “The Liver Cleansing Diet” has sold well over a million and a half
copies worldwide and has made her a household name in Australia and New
Zealand, and well-known in the USA. The Liver Cleansing Diet Book won the
Australian People’s Choice Award in 1997.

Dr Cabot (aka The Flying Doctor) is a commercial pilot and flies herself to
seminars throughout Australia, often visiting remote areas to help people learn
more about her health message. She has conducted health seminars all over the
world and is frequently asked to lecture for numerous health organisations such
as The American Liver Foundation and the Primary Biliary Cirrhosis Society.

Dr Cabot believes that the most important health issues for people today are
    –
The control of obesity and the prevention of diabetes
Educating our children about good diet and lifestyle
Making hormone replacement therapy safe and as natural as possible
The use of specific nutritional supplements to treat and prevent diseases
Educating doctors about the proper use of nutritional medicine
The effective treatment of mental and emotional illness
A supportive and well educated community where people have the confidence and
knowledge to find the best health care

Dr Cabot has a very exciting life flying around Australia and the USA and
meeting thousands of people. Thankfully she still has time to practise
    medicine.

To contact Dr Cabot, phone Christine Ki or Deborah Sanders on 623 334 3232.

    About Dr Sandra Cabot

Welcome to this unique corner of cyberspace where you can share the medical
insights of Dr Sandra Cabot M.D. who specialises in helping people with weight
problems, liver dysfunction and hormonal imbalances. Dr. Cabot has had her
books published in many different countries and is internationally recognised
    for her work.

Dr. Sandra Cabot is a popular & regular guest on radio and television programs
and writes for many women’s & health magazines. Sandra does seminars in
Australia and overseas and has helped many thousands of chronically ill persons
to regain good health. Sandra is both a medical doctor and a naturopath and was
the first doctor to describe accurately and scientifically the 4 different body
types and their special hormonal and metabolic characteristics.

It has been a revelation to me as a medical doctor, that it is possible to
help, and in many cases cure, this broad spectrum of problems by following a
nutritional program specifically designed to improve liver function. For this
purpose I have written the Liver Cleansing Diet book which gives you an eight
week plan to improve your liver function.

No, it was a simple question, as you had quoted ex-Dr Cabot's own web

does not grant a degree abbreviated to "MD". You asked a question and
    then answered it yourself.

There it is. The University of South Australia does not grant any
degree called "M.D.". Actually, I don't think any university does, as
American schools grant "MD". If she does not have a degree abbreviated
to "M.D." or "MD" then she cannot put it after her name.

I asked for proof, it is well known your word is unreliable.

Jan asked for prof that ex-Dr Sandra Cabot does not hold a degree
abbreviated to "MD". I told her that the university that ex-Dr Sandra
Cabot attended does not grant such a degree. She does not accept this
fact as a fact. No further discussion is possible.

No, it was a simple question, as you had quoted ex-Dr Cabot's own web

No, you made a clim and still haven't provided proof.

You made the claim, you prove it.

    Here are some FACTS.

The University of South Australia does not have a medical school,
therefore ex-Dr Sandra Cabot cannot have an "MD" degree from that
university, even if such a degree existed in Australia. The fact that
she says that she went to that university is just another lie. I can
only assume that she used that name for the same reason that she calls
herself "MD", which is that she thinks that people are too stupid to
understand the words "Flinders" or "Adelaide".

    http://www.unisa.edu.au/about/divs/schools-alpha.asp

The University of Adelaide offers the degree of Bachelor of Medicine,
Bachelor of Surgery. The letters after a graduate's name are "MB,BS",
not "MD". The University of Adelaide is not the University of South
    Australia.

    http://www.adelaide.edu.au/programs/ug/prog/health/#med

Flinders University offers the degree of Bachelor of Medicine,
Bachelor of Surgery. The letters after a graduate's name are "BMBS",
not "MD". Flinders University is not the University of South
    Australia.

    http://som.flinders.edu.au/HTML/COURSES/GEMP/

So thanks to Jan we now know that ex-Dr Sandra Cabot not only lies
about the name of her degree but she lies about where she got it.
