While running, my ankle began to hurt somewhat badly. I didn't
turn it or tramatize it in any way, but now when I walk any distance
or even stand for a time, it hurts directly above the heel and to
the outer part of the ankle. It is the same kind of pain I have felt
years ago when I turned my ankle.
There is no swelling or any kind of visible trauma.
What makes it worse is pressure to the heel. For example, I tried
digging holes with a shovel, and when I used a booted heel to press
the shovel down, I had some fairly severe pain.
My doctor took x-rays and found nothing. He prescribed anti-
inflammatory pills and sent me on my way. It's been three weeks,
and I suspect it might be something more serious.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike
