A few weeks ago I had something on this order of weight and expense, and the
box was put into another box, and the outside box was pretty beat up.
Nothing was damaged inside, so I was glad they went with extra packing.

Just can't decide. This article is not available at any kitchen stores near
me at all.

and mistakes and questionable shipments with both.

I've always had good luck with Amazon. Ordered a high end rice cooker
a couple of years back. Corner was broken(box showed no damage).
Contacted Amazon & had a new one 3 days later. Amazons always my first
choice.

The last CD I bought from Amazon had a bad chunk in one of the long
segments. Really ticked me off, but I never returned it, as I don't/didn't
know if it was one they were selling or all were that way. It's been too
long now to do anything about it; don't intend to.

But I have sold some DVD's on Amazon -- for instance, all the Sopranos boxed
sets, I sold as soon as I put them for sale.

But that doesn't preclude an outer box. Maybe it's been refurbished and
that's why they emphasize its own box. Maybe. Gloria came up with that.

I've ordered things from vendors that were shipped in their own packing
box and they were in a box like what you would see at the store and then
in an outer box. I would think they wouldn't ship these items in just
one box like that unless they were packed well enough inside with
Styrofoam etc.

If you haven't signed into, or registered under your name on Amazon, do
that.
Then sign in and the page comes up showing a tag called "Blakes amazon.com"
then that page will show "marketplace" and you can list what you have for
sale. You can use other people's listings as a guideline. Pretty easy.
Just take your time, it falls into place.

Yes, that critical point is reached everytime we go shopping. Yesterday I
got the new food mill that needed replacing that had gone out. The new mill
awaiting a place in line on the shelves.

New down comforters were purchased yesterday, one to replace a down/feather
comforter that actually had white dust coming out when you paddled it in the
air. This time I was careful to look at the tag, which showed "sterlized"
down. The old one will definitely not be given to the thrift shop. Not fit
for a dog -- it was a rather expensive purchase, tho, at the time IIRC.

It's a battle getting things out of the house because DH holds on tight
until the last minute. DH was convinced the white dust is not good, as he
has had some spots designated on his lungs; they're in the holding stage;
nothing serious, but he will be more careful.
