On a low carb diet, what kind of alcoholic drinks may I have? I know beers
are off limits, but what other drinks can I have?

Any straight alcohol, vodka, whiskey, gin, etc. has zero carbs. It
does have calories and gets burned before anything else and can knock
you out of ketosis if you drink enough. Dry wine has a small amount
of carbs, about 4g per glass. There are guides available that list
actual carb counts, if you need specifics. As for beer, there are
several low carb varieties available now. The most popular and my
favorite is Michelob Ultra, which has about 2.5g, Miller Lite is around
3.5. Stay away from the sweet cordial type of alcohol. -

There are also a few types of malt flavored beverages out there, like
Mike's Hard Lemonade light (with only 1g carb) and Bacardi makes their
own flavored drink that comes in Black Cherry or Apple, with about 4-5g
of carbs in each. The Mike's is good if you're looking for a light
wine-cooler type of drink. -

Single malt scotch is awesome (NO it does NOT have carbs as DON'T vodka,
gin, rum, bourbon, etc generally)
Malt can be made low carb through the judicious use of yeast.
Low carb beer? Uh...yeah.
Read the books.
You can have more than eggs for breakfast.
Yes calories do count.
Ketosticks are not neccessary to lose weight.Email: Actually my feet are big not medium.

Beers are off-limits? Huh, didn't know that. I've had one or two
since starting LC.I will, once a week, have either a Captain Morgan/diet Coke, or make a
sugar-free Colorado Bulldog.. yum! It's a mixture of 1.5oz. Dana
Carpender's Mockahlua (sugar-free homemade kahlua), 1.5oz. cream, and
fill up the rest of the glass with diet cola.--

184/173/140Depending on where you are on a low carb diet, especially maintenance, the
moderate amount of beer is okay according to
The Low-Carb Bartender book. Moderation means 1 serving of beer, wine, or
booze per day for women, 2 servings for men (USDA).As for Captain Morgan, there are carbs in it as noted below:
Captain Morgan Spiced Rums
Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum 1.5 oz 4.8 g
Captain Morgan Silver Spiced Rum 1.5 oz 2.4 g
Captain Morgan Parrot Bay 1.5 oz 9.36 g
Captain Morgan Private Stock 1.5 oz 3.24 g
