  1. This isn't necessarily a question related to running, but I am hopeful it is still the best
newsgroup to post to. I had knee surgery about 2 years ago and ever since, due to what I think is
compentation - I have this ache on the outer side of my right foot when I wear shoes. I think it is
due to me just walking differently and probably the muslces not being as strong in that foot since I
never had this problem before. I am getting back to being more active now - not running yet, but
that is my ultimate goal. I previously had Asics shoes that were extra width - 2E I believe. I just
had this ache whenever I would ride the bike or walk with this shoe. I figured it was the width of
the shoe so I go looking for shoes recently and the only one I could find that had 4E was New
Balance. They seemed to fit just great, with good room, but now my foot aches just as bad when I'm
being active. I'm not convinced at this point it's the shoes, because all my shoes are like this.
What could this problem be with my foot - could it just be really weak still? Are there any kind of
exercises I can try to strengthen it? It's not a bad pain, but it is enough to not be able to
continue biking or using the elliptor sometimes. Any help would be appreciated!

    Chad
