  1. Well, it's not permanent, but my right side (below my rib cage, where the
liver enters) is very tender to the touch. Last week I was running and had
a side stitch and ran through it. Now my right side is quite sore. I know
that there are ligaments from your internal organs to the diaphragm that
when stressed cause a side stitch (the liver is the heaviest organ so that
is where the side stitch most often occurs). Have any of you ever injured
yourselves to the extent that the side stitch pain last a couple of weeks,
and is tender to the touch?

Yes, I have that going on right now, though it's on the left side, not the
right. If the liver is on the right, what's on the left?

I notice that when I inhale I can feel something rubbing across the ribs.

I first noticed it Wednesday morning, and running was very painful that day.
The stitch has felt better every day since, and I can run at any pace I
want, but it's still here. Weirdest thing I've ever had.

That sounds like a broken or bruised rib.

Some other organ, I guess. It can occur on either side, but usually happens
    with the liver.

Yep, I've had a good side stitch that could be felt for several days. A
couple of weeks is longer tho, but it's entirely possible that you strained
something a little bit. And that will always take more than a few days.
Maybe an anti-inflammant or other OTC medication would make sense, but I
dunno since I generally avoid medication.

Slowly but surely it is getting better. I've cut back on the running until
I get over this, and am taking several rest days.

  10. well i have the same thing . last weeek i ran and got a sidestich so i slowed down and then increased speed and ran through it. so now i notice a dull ache on the 12th and 11th rid and its happened before also and heals very slowly. i think keeping running with a sidestich cayses pull on 11th and 12th ribs and strain to the diaphram. i have given gym and runnign rest for 4 days how and still if if i press ahrd on 11the and 12 floating ribs it is a bit sore. with this there is ghost dull aches on the entire right side and some crawling as if something was crawling but i am getting back today evening with my workouts and running
