I didn't get to see the race, but I had heard this gesture was directed
at Carrigan. No?Kinda surprised she wasn't relegated for her unsporting gesture.

I really hate this [censored]. What ever happened to being a sportsman?

Exactly what I expect from anybody else. And? If Rossner was there they might
very well have taken gold. [censored] happens though

Funny thing is she says about flipping the bird, (from Cyclingnews.com) when
confronted by officials, she claimed that she did not, that it only looked
that way and she was being misunderstood. ( A picture is worth a 1000
words...lol) Apparently she was directing it at the German Federation for
leaving Rossner at home. Still doesn't make it rightDave

I agree, but I hope the repercussions aren't too severe, like Jens Lehmann
and Robert Bartko(?) had to suffer because they spoke out against the German
federation. -

I saw it as this: she threw the race to [censored] the German Federation and
that sign was intended to add insult to injury. Definitely not cool.-Sonarrat.

Now pass the crack pipe. She busted her ass, gave everything she had, that
would've been the leadout for Rossner.
You're usually pretty rational, stick with it.

mean, how often does someone get that close to an important win, and then
not even *attempt* to sprint. And I don't think you can say she knew she was
beat when she first saw the gap because her instincts would have kicked in
before any rational thought. It really did look like she planned to say FU.
But who knows. -

I find it pretty hard to believe that she was that close and her instincts
didn't kick in to get the gold. If that's loyalty for Rossner then it's
thicker then [censored]. -

period of time she will really regret it. I can imagine some time in the

Bill CI am being rational.. and that's what I saw. She didn't even seem to react
to the final kick to the line - coupled with that gesture, that doesn't sit
well with me. -

I agree. Even when agreements are made between riders there is at least the
illusion of a sprint. She did nothing.
She pulled that girl to the line and then just let her go. Who knows she
could have even won if she played her hand differently.
Now she'll never know. She has a silver medal and an embarrassing photo. I
wonder if she'll hang the medal from that picture. What people will do for love. It would be great if Rossner dumps her. Really
pour salt into the wound.Wade
