This weekend I did a "Tour de Moms" to my mom's house & back. Along the
way back today I ran across a Memorial Day celebration being held in a
small town. It looked like they had a substantial turnout for the
graveyard services. My wife & mom went to services held in the cemetary
where my uncle, a WWII vet is buried. They also had a large turnout. Seems this year Memorial Day
services are being held with renewed interest.

Amen to that. I had thought that this thread would be way too tempting for

We are in a war right now, although the crazy liberal Dems have yet to
grasp the fact. Even Kerry knows that we can't cut and run, but the extreme
liberal wacko nut Dems are always prepared to do just that. They have ever
been treasonous cowards since those glory days of WWII that everybody waxes
nostalgic about. I hope the Michael Moore types all vote for Nader, thus
ensuring that Bush will be around for four more years to prosecute the war.All this blather about WWII is misplaced. We need to get up to speed on the
present war, one which is pregnant with death and destruction coming to a
neighborhood near you. In fact, it may even be your neighborhood that will
be blown to kingdom come. Let us hope if and when it happens that it will be
nothing but liberal precincts that will be blown to hell - you know, the
kind that would vote for Kerry and/or Nader in overwhelming numbers. Those
who won't defend the nation do not deserve to be part of the nation.--

It doesn't do any good to delete my post as everyone can plainly read the
preceding post if they are interested. Never assume however that everyone
is reading any of what we are posting . Therefore, there are now some on
this newsgroup who do not have the faintest idea what you are presently
talking about in your present post. I am not like you that way. I like at
all times for others to know what I am talking about. I have respect for the
readers. You show nothing but contempt for the readers. But you need to think about the present war instead of WWII, which has by
now truly become ancient history. All this blather about the greatest
generation of WWII sickens me. We have the finest military the world has
ever seen, one that is capable of slashing through the vaunted Iraqi
Republican Guard like it wasn't even there. We need to always remain strong
militarily no matter what it costs. The lessons of history teach that there
is no substitute for winning your wars. We need to win the present war as
soon and as decisively as possible.A great nation like the US will always be in a state of war, much like the
Roman Empire was. The rest of the world can be grateful that we are not bent
on occupying any conquered territories, but instead are bent only on
exporting nothing but freedom and democracy. This is as close to the Kingdom
of God as this old world will ever get. The US is the only true crusader
nation left in the world today. We know that the best possible defense of
the nation is for all other nations to be freedom loving democracies like we
are. We no longer want to make the world safe for democracy ( a failed
policy for sure ever since President Wilson), but to make democracies -
period! If I were a believing Christian, I would have to say that the US is
nothing but an instrument in the hands of God Himself.Death to the Muslim foe!

If you have ever had Irritable Bowel Syndrome, you would think it is no
laughing matter. The effect of it is to make you wish you had never been
born. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. However, I have not had that
particular ailment for over 25 years now. I have other ailments which do not
cause me nearly so much distress, but which are going to kill me all the
same. There is no one alive who is not some day going to contract a fatal
illness. Unless you are immortal like the gods.--

You shouldn't think about him. We simply need to go about our business
and ignore the troll when he shows his ugly head. Otherwise, like
terrorists, he wins, and that's all he is about.A person like Dolan, who probably never drew a weapon from armory
after basic training except to requalify in his last of two years, has
done nothing more in his life to speak for the U.S. than a Naderite
coming right out of college. And if my father, who fought in WWII and the Korean action, with his
last combat in the mid-fifties riding shotgun on Army Cessnas doing
Search and Retrieve in Korea, could talk with me about peace when I

conversation topic at any time, as long as we include mostly adults.Next time Dolan pretends to speak for the military, laugh. Between us,
my Dad and I spent 30 years and 'participated' in three wars. He

So just what is old Russell responding to pray tell? He does not include
any of my post. Like all liberals, he does not want to play fair. He is
devious and underhanded. Please note how I am including all of his post to
which I am responding. I leave it to the readership as to who is being a
scoundrel and who is being fair. Liberals simply can't take any kind of
discussion about the issues (in this case, the issue of war).Quoted message said:

best example I can think of. He had to be dragged kicking and screaming into
the First Gulf War. That is why it is so damn nice to have a President at
long last who is not afraid to use the military for good and just purposes.
Russell probably believes that only those who have served in the military in
time of war have any right to be President. Scoundrels like Kerry for
instance who never saw a military program that he didn't vote against. Yet
he would raise everyone's taxes to pay for welfare for no good for nothings
who infest our society and drag us all down to the level of a third world
country.Quoted message said:

important for securing the safety and security of the nation. What Russell does not appreciate is that in this era of the proliferation of
nuclear weapons that it will be too late to wait until we come under direct
attack. The whole purpose of preemptive war is to avoid those last
extremities. Pearl Harbor has now become a horrible example of how and why
America goes to war. It belongs to another century and does not have all
that much relevance to the kind of world we are living in today. If peace is a valid conversation topic at any time, so is war. The young
people coming up today have their heads screwed on straighter on these
issues than do the older generations who apparently learned all the wrong
lessons from any wars they were ever involved in.Quoted message said:

nose trying to saw off your head and violate any females you may have in
your household. The spoils of war you know!In all my time in the service, I never met any one in the military who knew
how to think about matters of war and peace. They are good at fighting the
wars, but not about whether we should go to war or not. That we must leave
to our elected representatives who have the necessary brain power to make
those kind of judgments.--

All these one-liner posters are driving me to distraction. They have nothing
to say, and yet have got to say it. I must admit I do not have a clue about
what is going on in their minuscule brains. I give them plenty of meat to
chew on, and all I get back is a pitiful dribble from their slack jaws.--

the nation of which I am a part (unlike the treasonous liberals who will not
defend this country from its enemies). Russell takes the small view (like
all liberals) and does not think anything in this country is worth fighting
for except the last extremity of self defense. Only a Pearl Harbor type of
attack is enough justification for him to want to defend this country
(Russell, like all liberals, can't seem to remember the event of 9/11). Let
us be grateful that we have far larger brains in charge of this country and
not small minded twerps like him who couldn't think their way out of paper
sack.Russell is most awfully wrong. But that is because he is just plain
wrongheaded like all liberals. He is rendered deaf and blind and dumb by his
liberal ideology which denies him the elementary ability to see anything as
it is. Only when his head is being sawed off by a Muslim terrorist will his
eyes be opened. Of course, by then it will be too late. But that is always
the way it is with these damnable liberals. Always too little and too late.
Russell is not worthy to even kiss the feet of George W. Bush, President of
the United States of America ( the greatest nation that has ever existed in
the history of the world)!Liberals should all be living in the country known as France where they can
be venal and treasonous to the values of Western Civilization to their
heart's content. There, they can also betray the values of Chrsitendom like
the devils that they are. Swine should reside in a pig sty (like France) and
not in the land of the free and the home of the brave. We may have to have
another civil war of sorts in this country to rid ourselves of these
treasonous liberals!Death to the Muslim foe!

Man, I got them
Irritable Bowel Syndrome Bluuuuuuues. That is funny Zippy! I thought for sure I had a cancer of the bowel or at
the very least an ulcer. The local doc told me that I did not have anything
serious, and so I blew up at him and went to the Mayo Clinic over at
Rochester. How the hell could something that was causing me so much distress
be nothing? At the Mayo Clinic I had every test known to mankind and they
also told me it was nothing. Just irritable bowel syndrome! The doc back in
my hometown wanted me to see a psychiatrist. I knew there was nothing wrong
with my head (after all, I am a conservative!) and so I found myself another
doc. Eventually the whole thing blew over by itself without any treatment,
but I had a very bad 2 years. As a result of that experience I learned to value good health above all else
in life. That has served me well until now when I am finding that the
inevitable effects of aging are going to do me in as surely as any deadly
disease that ever existed. I think the secret to life is to postpone the
inevitable for as long as possible. One thing is for sure. When we are dead,
we are dead for all eternity.--

This subject thread is quickly going into the gutter and down the drain, but
is has nothing to do with Godwin's Law. It has to do with all this nonsense
about me being a troll. If someone can write that peace is good, then I can
write that war is good. But apparently I can't write that without being
accused of being a troll. Maybe I should start calling everyone a troll with
whom I disagree. Then we could have an infinite number of posts dealing with
the subject of who is and who isn't a troll.--
