You are mozzarella! So says they. They also say - You are a
shiny, soft, round cheese. Oh krap, they've seen me naked!

The first time I took the quiz, I answered as honestly as I
could. Quizzes that ask you to choose the best answer when
any could apply depending on the situation are always
ridiculous, but I love those absurd quizzes, can't resist
them. It told me I was Brie which made me shrug my
shoulders. I like Brie. It's not quite as flavorful as
others, but it's O.K. I like other cheeses too.
Then I retook the quiz choosing the LEAST appropropriate
answer each time. It told me I was American cheese. Now is
that fitting or what? American cheese. Bleah.

I took it twice because I was torn on some questions....
I'm either Mozzarella or Chevres.
Hmm.
But my favorite part of the quiz was from the description of
Swiss Cheese:
"You are indifferent to the world around me. You are dreamy
and often lost in my thoughts."
And I felt instantly like I'd met my true cheese match. I'll
only accept people who are indifferent to the world around
me if they're truly lost in *my* thoughts.
Egomaniacheese much?

We call it "dog cheese." The singles keep forever in the
fridge. When the dog has to take a pill, we wrap it in dog
cheese. It molds around the pill quite nicely and thus can
be used as a treat for good behavior. The dog knows the
sound of dog cheese plastic and will come running when she
hears it being unwrapped. No other plastic from the fridge
gets the same reaction. Of course, we never touch the dog
cheese unless it is for her.

Been there. Done that. That is *not* American cheese.

Woof!
I don't care what anyone says, I love grilled cheese
sandwiches and nothing works like a good Kraft shingle. Stay
away from Borden's. They truly have zero flavor. I bet your
dog would concur. 😉

Yeah, I used to buy the singles when I had to feed the dog a
pill every morning and night. I would not eat it myself.
If you look, perhaps your store carries Kraft Deluxe. It is
not individually wrapped. It's the closest thing to the real
American cheese I grew up on. Other than maybe color, the
real thing bears no resemblence to those yucky singles.
(smile) Perhaps you won't like that, either, it's cheddar
like, but don't think those singles things are even cheese.

I second Nancy on the individally wrapped slices not being
real American Cheese. Most deli sections tend to have sliced
american cheese. The kraft deluxe is good, but I don't buy
it since Kraft is importing milk from Canada for their
cheese making these days, and my dad, a dairy farmer, asked
the family to boycott kraft cheese products.

I haven't seen those in a long time, Nanc, and I've
looked. Tillimook, a onetime quality cheese producer, has
recently come out with AC shingles, but thay don't really
do it, either.

Most of them aren't. Borden's, once an icon for wholesome
milk, now has zero milk in it. They didn't even bother to
put in a poor facsimile of cheese flavor. They're just
plain ol' yellow vegetable oil-based polyvinyl crud, as are
many house brands, like Albertson's, etc. They taste just
like brie. 😉

That stuff always reminds me of a "Simpson's" episode in
which Homer ate 60+ slices in one sitting. Ugh! Hubby and
Small Child like it for grilled cheese sandwiches, but I'll
stick to cheddar.

The deli counter at our local stupidmarket has real American
cheese loaves; maybe Julia's does too... :-)
