  1. All the name calling, bashing and ridicule that takes place
here is farther away from the goal of this group than any
advertisements or discussion on products that may be of help
    to some of us.

I know for me I have not talked at all about a product that
is having tremondous results here in Hawaii because people
just start telling you how it does not work and how all you
want to do is make money. Nope I would rather tell people
about a very effective and inexpesive product that is
working with out going through all the BS and accussations.
But how sad is that! Literaaly millions of people are
missing out on a good thing. I know of a product that is
actually helping people here and can not tell anyone here
about it, this place full of diabetics and loved ones of
diabetics! Taht is a little crazy. However it is perfectly
okay for people to continuously bicker and insult one
another here. Why is that allowed and tolerated and why do
    people participate in it?

Does the charter say something about that? And if so why
isn't it pointed out? Ugly attitude is just as destructive
as any diease, as a matter of fact many beleive it could be
    what causes many physical ailments.

I think any and all discussion on the subject and anything
related to it should be tolerated. If you do not want to
read it then do not. There may be something for some one and
if just one person is helped isn't that good?

Lets be responsisble for our actions and let the next person
see our example. Stop the spiral.

How did you get the idea that spamming is the same as
    bickering and insulting?

Why are you surprised that people here "allow" participating
in bickering and don't "allow" posting spam? Who told you
    people here "tolerate" either?

And furthermore: who "allows" what on Usenet? Feel free to
bicker, insult and spam, and suffer the consequences.

Sell your junk in a regular way. Spam isn't that way.

If you are a sincere diabetic who has earned the trust of
the folk in this newsgroup it *is* possible to do this
without either infringing the group charter or annoying
folk. You will have seen other folk doing it here. The fact
that you don't seem to know this, and that the language you
use in describing this product sounds awfully like spammers
language, does however make us rather suspicious of you.

    Hi Lanakila

As your only other post here was on ALA, and google shows up
just a few in similar vein to this on
misc.health.alternative, we might put more credence on your
posting if you gave us some background.

    Are you a diabetic?

    Type 1 or 2?

Oh, and what do you sell?

I'll do you a favour; I'll save you the trouble of typing
your next post, and copy what you said on m.h.a. here:

"I went to a natural doctor here and she gave me an herbal
tea that is made complete from foods and it has helped me
lose more than 30 pounds it also has helped me reshape. I am
of course much healthier and it has helped with other
problems like my heart and liver. I really want to tell
people about this product but the best I can do is tell you
it works and you can call them at 1 800 ...... ext .....
They also have a product for diabetes, a very common problem
    among us fat guys."

Do yourself a favour. If you truly are diabetic, lurk here
for a month, read Jennifer, read some of the cites, and stop
    taking Tahitian supplements.

You'll profit far more from doing that than trying to sell
    us herbal teas.

Constantly abusive posters are easy to deal with; I like the
    old term "twit filter" better....

Lots of "alternative" treatments are discussed openly and
reasonably here, but be forewarned if it looks like you're
peddling them you should look up a good source of Nomex
underwear. There are occasional spam postings for obviously
scammish things, but I'm not a good enough composer of haiku
to respond. The best thing in Hawai'I for diabetes is, IMHO,
just wandering about eating good food and walking a lot. My
recent 2 weeks on Kaua'I logged some of the best readings
since I started keeping them (except for the sweet barbecue
platter with white rice....). The tone of your post makes me
think "spanked spammer," but hopefully I'm wrong. It
    wouldn't be unusual.

    Hi Lanakila

As your only other post here was on ALA, and google shows up
just a few in similar vein to this on
misc.health.alternative, we might put more credence on your
posting if you gave us some background.

Alan I do not know what you are referring to here.
What is ALA? I have actually posted a couple of
times here and on the alternative diabetes group.

    Are you a diabetic?

    I was diabetic.

    Type 1 or 2?

    I was type 2

Oh, and what do you sell?

I created and sell an herbal blend that was designed
for diabetics but is actually doing a lot more for
people. It is currently going through an assay test
to insure that the ingredients on the label are what
    is really in the bottle.

I'll do you a favour; I'll save you the trouble of typing
your next post, and copy what you said on m.h.a. here:

What is m.h.a.? I do not know where you got the post
from but that isn't me. I do not go to any natural
    doctor anywhere.

Do yourself a favour. If you truly are diabetic, lurk here
for a month, read Jennifer, read some of the cites, and stop
    taking Tahitian supplements.

You'll profit far more from doing that than trying to sell
    us herbal teas.

I do not take Tahitian supplements as Noni
and I do not get along. Noni, like any other
herb can not be taken by everyone. I am not
    able to take it.

So please be more careful in your response as
you do have me mixed up with someone else.

My whole point in my original post is that it seems very
strange that people get so twisted over someone talking or
selling something that may or not be good, but tolerate all
the bashing between humans here. That is very incredible to
me. That we would be more upset over someone trying to tell
us about a product (good or bad) than we are over people
    beating on each other.

I am not here trying to sell anyone anything. My product
already sells very well and is doing exactly what I intended
it to do. I am very aware of the no selling policy and do
not intend to violate it. I just wanted to know why what I
consider to be more evil and perverse is okay. I have been
reading people's post here and on the diabetes group to try
and figure out how to over come the stereotypes people have
regarding pharmacuticals and herbals. Both have alot to
offer but do to the dishonesty of individuals and the greed
of others it is hard to get a effective product in the ahnds
then need to be in. One of my very first post was on that
subject and asking people what they thought.

I just buried someone I love very much this past weekend, we
are not sure if the diabetes or the cancer got her. The
point is she could have lived longer and healthier if she
were allowed access to all available information and make
decisions for herself and be active in her treatments. But
instead her doctor and her sons chose to ignore what she was
saying and did not take the time to educate themselves on
    alternatives, either chemical or natural.

There are good and bad products but people must be allowed
to have the information and figure it out for themselves.
    That's all.

The point is, people swearing at each other, despicable
though it may be, doesn't do a great deal of harm to
these people. Might even do some good, by releasing
    tension, and so on.

However, people selling potions here typically say,
explicitly or implicitly, that these potions are an
alternative to medication, and are better and/or cheaper.
This is highly unlikely to be the case. Anybody switching
from medication to a potion is likely to suffer severe
health damage, but won't notice it for a long time to come.
This is why people here get angry.

This newsgroup gets overwhelmed by sellers of potions. There
may be a few posts here which are for genuine discussion of
these substances, but they are few indeed. Such a post might
    well be politely discussed here.

You sure that shouldn't be "I AM No. 2" .....

I'd tend to agree with that statement, *BUT* I do *not*
believe that the person whose interest is purely in selling
the product is the proper person to be pushing the
    information ...

Unfortunately for the purveyors of so-called "miracle cures"
and the ilk, this particular newsgroup is dedicated to a
failing of the human body that currently has no cure .... it
does not go into remission, and once it's there, it's there
for life (other than the likes of gestational diabetes) ....
hence peddling "cures" here is like trying to flog a dead
horse ..... and about as welcome as the rotting corpse of
    that dead horse ...

I am not here trying to sell anyone anything. My
product already sells very well and is doing exactly
what I intended it to do. I am very aware of the no
selling policy and do not intend to violate it. I just
wanted to know why what I consider to be more evil and
    perverse is okay.

    That's all.

bottom line....... regardless of how you feel........
    ADVERTISING IS NOT ALLOWED HERE

The point is, people swearing at each other, despicable
though it may be, doesn't do a great deal of harm to
these people. Might even do some good, by releasing
    tension, and so on.

Even the most gullible person will not be mislead into
trying something potentially harmful by somebody else's
    flame-war ..
