  1. I use a MAC which means I can't use Anquet's maps. I have a
third party programme that does all that I need it to do
with OS data but the problem is I can't get hold of the OS
data except using get-a-map from the OS website which just
gives you a small portion of the map.

I'm wondering whether I could buy an Anquet CD and simply
access the OS raster data stored on it - then it would
still be worth buying the CD ROM. Or is the OS data
    encrypted in some way?

Can anyone think of another way of getting the OS data other
than paying OS £7k for the whole of the country?

Yes, only accessible via Anquet AFAIK.

  3. Andy,

You can buy the data that you want from either
    emapsite.comemapsite.com or streetmap.co.ukstreetmap.co.uk

Both of these are more expensive (although not prohibitive)
that when packaged Anquet because they are sold under a
commercial licence from the OS rather than a consumer
licence that Anquet have. In order to maintain the consumer
licence Anquet and Memory Map etc have to make sure that the
data can't be extracted into some other software.
