Does someone understand how this occurs at the cellular level. When I take a daily multi-vitamin, I know it is absorbed into my bloodstream because I urinate bright yellow, but it there a waste product also being excreted, or does this bright yellow urine indicate lack of absorption in cells?

You've simply consumed more riboflavin than your cells need, and the remainder is excreted.
