Carol, please go to your teacher and tell them to read the
SQA guidelines for your module or course which have been
updated since we complained. We get literally hundreds of
postings here from pupils and college students asking silly
questions such as
"i woul like to find out where to go for a walk with good
scenery in scotland." [that was sent today by "Jen" -
perhaps you know her?] and it's very very annoying.
Please tell your teacher that there are practice newsgroups
specifically for posting practice items.
Actually yours is one of the better ones. However you
should note that
a) it is customary on email and newsgroups to spell
correctly and put capital letters in where they
should go.
b) a heading such as "hi" is not helpful as the idea is to
attract attention of anyone who can help you. Perhaps
"Walking in Lanark?"
Good luck with your course otherwise.
If you do know Jen please tell her that I won't personally
be replying because her post was too silly and annoying and
I might say something rude. Perhaps someone else on this NG
will do so but she's not likely to get a friendly posting
I'm afraid.

Yes. To judge from e-mails I receive from my nephew, the
battle for spelling and capital letters is lost, and we must
now concentrate our efforts on saving the vowel from
extinction. I have threatened to buy him some for Christmas.

WHAT!!! the battle is lost? After all those years of getting
seven shades belted out of us over bad spelling! I can still
hear that little tyrants voice in my ear "Once we get your
spelling sorted out we can then start on syntax. Now hold
out your hand......." Yes those were the days...... spelling
facists, may they all burn in hell.

The only emails I get with missing vowels and universal
lower case are from my 26yo son. I have complained and I
think he does it to annoy

Also, the bottom halves of letters don't carry much
visual info, so we could save on printing by using only
the top half.
