have a filter on my tap. Plus, I don't know about all you
bottled water drinkers out there, but Memphis publishes and

Soft water really sucks because you can't rinse shampoo out
of your hair. Hard water has too many trace minerals. Our
water is *just right* 🙂Jill

chlorine in
it.Quoted message said:

Columbus, OH water has a distinct bad odder about it..worse
in the summer. I just prefer the bottled water for drinking.
The rest of the family could care less, but for me the odor
is a turn off.. -

Soft water makes it feel very slick, just like it is soapy,
even though it is gone. Little or no conditioner is needed
too. Same with the soap in a shower. You feel slick, but you
are soap free. Ed -

really soft water. It sucked when I last visited relatives
up there, not only for drinking but for washing things. So I
can understand your liking bottled water, Laura. Water
should not have an 'odor'.Jill

water really sucks because you can't rinse shampoo out of
your hair. That doesn't make sense. Soft water lathers much better than
hard water and rinses soap much, much better. Soft water
simply means water with low mineral content, which makes it
a a better solvent... that slippery feeling is your hands
running over your clean body. Ever since I had my new water
softener installed I only need to use half as much soaps and
detergents... and there is much less cleaning as there is
virtually no hard water stain and soap scum build up... just
a quick douche with the hand held shower spray and my entire
tub area is sparkling clean, no more grungy shower doors, no
more scrubbing... no more crud build up under the terlit rim
either... dishwasher does just fine with half a tablet, and
clothes washes with half as much laundry soap. Saves money
on cleaning products, saves plumbing, makes hot water
systems much more efficient, and definitely saves septic
systems. Water softeners pay for themselves in short order.Quoted message said:

BTW, for the other posters, the best thing they can do is
invest in a reverse osmosis filter. Just changing the pre
and post filter every 9 months will extend the life of the
membrane by a factor of 3 to 4.HTH,

403a.htmThat article is very misleading, it's predicated on that
folks have malfunctioning water softeners... a properly
functioning water softener adds no appreciable salt.Quoted message said:

waste that water for cleaning. As always Sheldon, you don't Get It! I don't have an RO
unit to feed my main water intake (that would consume the
membrane in a month, not to mention the low pressure I
would have.)No, I use it for three purposes only: my reef tank and
the investment that is inside (expensive corals, fish,
et cetera,) drinking and cooking, and the humidifiers in
our bedrooms.Quoted message said:

learn how to comprehend.I guess your such a "come mierda", that you couldn't

Water isn't really an extravagance here. The exception: the
same water from the same company in 1 liter bottles at the
market is $1 for bottle same as the 5 gallon bottle
delivered to the house. So..we buy 5 gallons and just use
nalgene bottles to take our water to school or work.I'm not about to start distilling water for a family of four
plus 4 dogs when I can buy it at less then $1 for 5 gallons
- it's just not cost effective.Sandi

So you never heard of agricultural/manufacturing run
off... you're much dumber than a webtv'er.Sheldon, do you remember that run off in Chicago a few years
ago? God people were getting sick. I don't recall the
details but I think a few people may have died. There was
also an agricultural run off at the lake my brother lives on
about 3 years ago. They couldn't even take the boats out or
swim because of it. Nasty business run off problems.Michael
