Book "Fit for Life A New Beginning" by Harvey Diamond
This book, published in 2000, is by the co-author of the previous best-seller "Fit for Life. It
reveals how we can take charge of our health and prevent disease. With its logical common-sense
approach, it is one of the best books on health that I have read. Some quotations follow:
"It can appear that it is haphazard circumstances that bring on ill health, but it is not." P14.
"I don't just want to show people what to do after they're sick; I want to show them what to do so
they don't become sick." P15.
"The fact that impeccably reliable and effective methods of prevention and healing are virtually
hidden from the general public is a tragedy of immense proportions." P16.
"Can you see that the basic function of medicine is after-the-fact treatment. Rather than focusing
on the cause of the problem, it focuses on lessening the symptoms of the problem." P45.
"The enormous importance of diet in determining our health is no longer a matter of speculation but
rather a well established, scientifically substantiated fact of life." P46.
"The cleaner the body is, the better it works." P52.
"How sad that the prevailing opinion of traditional medicine ignores the need for inner
cleansing." P57.
"You see, cancer is not the problem, it is the end result of the problem."
P61.
"Incidence of cancer is also increasing, suggesting a failure to prevent or control new or current
causes of cancer." P65.
"Millions of animals have been tortured throughout the world to find the cure of a malady which has
been steadily increasing for 50 years." P66 (referring to words written in 1924, that just as
relevant today).
"Where that (cancer) happens isn't the most important thing. Why it happens is the issue." P69.
"Traditional therapies of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy attack the problem at the end stages
of its growth, after the fact. It is attacking the effect while ignoring the cause." P70.
"Cancer will never just happen. It will inevitably be the result of causes that were not removed
over a very long period of time." P70.
"By and large, drugs don't do any good in addressing the underlying causes of illness. Although they
can block symptoms that can be life-threatening, in most cases they are overused and misused." P88
"The causes are never addressed, ensuring that whatever problem was being drugged gets worse,
requiring even more drugs." P92.
"Drugs do have their place. Emergency situations require emergency measures and sometimes, under
certain circumstances, drugs fulfil that need." P94.
"We must nurture a genuine appreciation for the unparalleled ability to heal that our bodies
possess." P97.
"Radiation and chemotherapy are poisons. They poison and kill both cancer cells and healthy cells.
Moreover, these treatments are themselves carcinogenic. That's right, the treatment for cancer
causes cancer." P114.
"Women have choices outside of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and they are not being told about
them." P130.
"It would be one thing if the incidence of, and death rate from, breast cancer were steadily
decreasing, but the exact opposite is true." P130.
"That I am not a medical doctor is in my favor. It afforded me the opportunity to study before-the-
fact treatment instead of after-the-fact treatment." P131.
"There's no drug, no shot, no pill, no potion that will prevent the inevitable results of negative
living habits from coming to pass." P152.
"The greatest threat to your health is the overconsumption of animal products. Animal products
include all meat, chicken, fish, eggs, and dairy products." P179.
"High-fat animal products stimulate the development of free radicals. Antioxidant rich fruits and
vegetables prevent their formation." P190.
"The relationship between a healthy life and regular exercise is irrefutable." P206.
"Good thoughts produce good things and negative thoughts produce negative things." P281.
"Scholars and researchers have shown that repressed, unvented anger, coupled with a lack of self-
love, has been a major contributor in many cases of all kinds of disease." P300.
