  1. Yeah, I should ask my doctor about this. And I will, but that'll take a lot of money and effort.

and hits my cervix. A lot. Quite enough to keep me from getting "into it." This has happened every
time for years. I've had 2 lovers and both were virgins, so maybe we just don't know what to do.

Is that supposed to happen? I think I read somewhere that the cervix isn't supposed to be
    in the way.

Could it be that both your lovers were unusually well endowed? I had a friend who was, and he
considered it quite a curse because no woman he ever met could tolerate full penetration for exactly
    the reason you describe.

Do you also have painful periods?

Do a web search on it (yahoo, google) and see if it sounds like you.

It doesn't even require that her lovers have been well-endowed; some women have a cervix that just
isn't, well, "deep" inside, thus making it relatively vulnerable to getting bumped.

  5. It isn't supposed to hurt. You might not be quite "anatomically correct". Or your cervix (which is
an extension of your uterus) could be out of position. That can be adjusted by a gynecologist. It
used to happen to me every time I ovulated. And the pain was not only caused by intercourse - it
hurt to just sit for a couple of days every month.

The condition is called Collision dyspareunia – A type of dyspareunia caused by the penis hitting
the cervix or uterus. The condition is associated with a retroverted or tipped uterus.

I do not have what I consider excessive pain from my period. It's annoying, but I can take an Advil
and ignore it. Endometriosis doesn't sound like me, thanks though.

    Thank you for your thoughts.

Well, if they were well-endowed, I can't say, because I haven't exactly seen a lot of other naked,
    erect men for comparison.

Vulnerable to getting bumped? Well, if I stick my finger in all the way I hit it. It just sorta
hangs there like a curtain blocking the tube. And prodding it with my finger hurts my tummy a
    little too.

Cervices are pretty insensitive. (Or else a Pap smear sample would hurt, wouldn't it. <G> It's the
speculum against [unrelaxed] muscles that can cause Pap discomfort. In childbirth, it's the
effacement and dilation of the cervix that is painful.)

It's more likely that the cervix/uterus is in turn, nudging the ovaries. Ovaries are sensitive when
bumped, same as testicles [their homologous equivalent].

Okay, well, as long as we're being really frank here....

Average: If you wrap your hand around his erect penis at the base, only an inch or two would
    protrude above your hand.

Well endowed: A lot more than an inch or two.

I'm a male, so I'm certainly no expert, but having had some experience with this with more than one
woman in my life it sounds like maybe David was right and you're simply built "shallow." The
solution might be as simple as a different position. The woman on top allows her to control depth of
penetration. Perhaps you should try that.

This goes to show the importance of taking careful notes on special occasions. If I recall correctly
(Kinsey? I can't recall where I saw this figure), the average length of an erect penis is somewhere
in the vicinity of 5.5" to 6". Of course, you might not have had a ruler handy at the time.

Does sound like the same thing, doesn't it? How long are your fingers?

We have some great discussions here, do we not? The trouble with "woman on top" is that that
position allows for about as deep a penetration as the male is going to be able to manage. Some
other position might be preferable under the circumstances.

I think there must be some individual variation in this. My cervix is definitely sensitive, and it
*does* hurt to get a Pap smear sample taken. It's not the speculum that hurts; my uterus cramps when
    something scrapes my cervix.

I would think her being able to control the depth would be more important than how deep the
    position allowed.

But I dare say we need some women's opinions here. Two men debating this one is about as futile as
    it gets. ;-)

Well, when your man weighs 100 pounds more than you, most of it muscle, control has nothing to do
with who's on top. He's in control unless he chooses to let you be, so I find it hurts less on
    the bottom.

Nice selective snippage you did there, Kyro. Do you have
something to contribute? Or did you just feel compelled to
turn a frank discussion of her problem into something
    befitting a 7th grade boy's locker room?

    Can you say Freudian slip?

Sorry, but I don't get it. And whatever adolescent humor you
find in it, do us all a favor and don't explain it. Snicker
    and titillate by yourself.
