Grapefruit Gadget?

Does anyone know where I can get one? I can't find the catalog anymore, and could just
kick myself.

It won't work. The sections are not always in the same place in a grapefruit. I doubt they even all
have the same number of sections.

Use a very sharp paring knife or chefs knife and cut the peel off the grapefruit, cutting into the
sections a little. Then cut the sections out. Then squeeze the juice out of the tough membranes that
are left. Last time I tried it, I got 1 cup of whole peeled sections and juice from a medium sized
(and very heavy) Texas grapefruit.

If you do a google search on ( "citrus express" +review ) without the parenthesis, you will find
some reviews from U.S. TV stations. Most of them gave the gadget a thumbs up.

I would rather use a knife, but different strokes for different folks.

Nice idea..if it works? I have moms old curved grapefruit knife and it works great. We love
grapefruit! Funny, hated it when we were kids. Getting smarter??

I just bought a grapefruit knife, and it works pretty well. What it is is a double-tipped knife -- a
handle with a blade on each end.

One blade is twinned; i.e. it's actually two blades side-by-side and quite close together. You use
this blade to cut down either side of the membrane between the grapefruit sections.

The other blade is serrated and curved. After separating the sections per the above, you use the
curved blade to cut through the flesh of the grapefruit around the inside of the shell. After this
treatment, you can just eat the grapefruit directly out of the shell.

I got it at Central Market in Plano, Texas.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Any cookwares store in your area should have grapefruit
separators. So should some of the department and discount stores in the cookwares section such as
Sears, Target, Wal-Mart, etc. and maybe even some of your local supermarkets.
