The DASH Diet may or may not help you to lose much weight but it will lower your blood pressure.
Couple that with walking 10,000 steps a day and you have a winning combination. For 10 years my BP
was 145/90. I started walking in May of 2003 and have finally got up to the 10,000 steps (about 5
miles) per day goal. Also started following the DASH diet this past Fall. Was able to stop taking
Diovan/HCT and now require no meds at all. My daily BP now runs around 120/75.
The Diovan/HCT helped initially but a side effect kept me from exercising fully. When you try to
walk fast its like someone had tossed a rope around you and was holding you back.
If you're overweight (like me), WALK! It works.
