  1. The DASH Diet may or may not help you to lose much weight but it will lower your blood pressure.
Couple that with walking 10,000 steps a day and you have a winning combination. For 10 years my BP
was 145/90. I started walking in May of 2003 and have finally got up to the 10,000 steps (about 5
miles) per day goal. Also started following the DASH diet this past Fall. Was able to stop taking
Diovan/HCT and now require no meds at all. My daily BP now runs around 120/75.

The Diovan/HCT helped initially but a side effect kept me from exercising fully. When you try to
walk fast its like someone had tossed a rope around you and was holding you back.

If you're overweight (like me), WALK! It works.

It seems to have helped your blood pressure but has it helped your weight?

If it has not, would suggest you ask your doctor about the 2PD approach:

This can be dovetailed with the Dash diet.

    It is rather obvious, Jim.

  5. Sorry about that. Weight's down 20 lbs in 10 months. Would like to drop faster but don't
    want to Yo Yo.

And yes the 2PD did work. Lost 2 lbs in 10 days. When I get a little more will power I'll try it
again. Thanks for the advice Doc.
