  1. With all the chemicals products they put on fruits and vegetables to give em a nice look to the
consumer, I cannot eat apples and peaches anymore.

The wax on it gives me allergic reactions.

I think I will stop going to big supermarckets. I'll try to encourage the small merchants. Maybe I
    will find some normal fruit.

Have you had some allergic problems in the last month or year when you eat fruits?

  2. Peel or boil them. Boiling gives them a wonderful sweet taste and does not lose vits. That's what we
    do. daMoose

  3. Some nutrition pharmacists told me that the waxes are not poisonous...and it is okie to eat
    the skins...

but i don't understand why you are allergy to wax and can live with candle light...

  4. I think the wax on the apples are naturally occurring, but I could be wrong. I'm just wondering if
it's not the insecticides you are having problems with, instead.

Apples are very prone to pests and the orchards regularly use pesticides. Though these chemicals
have been deemed "safe", I'm sure there are folks who develop reactions to them. Just as some people
are allergic to certain foods and not others, everyone has different exposure limits to chemicals in
    our environment.

  5. I agree about the chemicals but I am not sure that apples and peaches produce wax. I have had a
problem with grapes in the past and don't eat them anymore. If I have them once and a while, it does
not seem too bad. Unfortunately, society is far to complacent with regards to chemicals these days.
I have switched almost all my home products to toxin free.

    Good luck!

  6. I have the same problem. I have to remove the skin. Some of the wax used is shellac. See this site
bestapples.comwaxing.html . And if you look up how shellac is made, that's
    another surprise.

Interesting read. I was both right and wrong 🙂...🙁

Still, I think the problem is with the residual chemicals, but Steve may indeed behaving problems
    with added wax/shellac.

Here is some info on the carauba wax used as used in a brand of car wax:

    Later....
