Whats the point of Zwifts FTP builder if its not even going to give you an accurate reading of your actual functional threshold power? I mean, Ive seen people who have done the test and gotten an FTP thats way off from what theyre actually capable of. And dont even get me started on the workouts that are supposed to help you build up to that FTP - theyre either way too easy or way too hard. Its like Zwift is just guessing at what you can handle instead of actually tailoring the workouts to your specific needs.
And another thing, whats with the lack of transparency in the algorithm that Zwift uses to calculate FTP? I mean, Ive seen some people try to reverse-engineer it, but its like Zwift is intentionally trying to keep it a secret. If youre going to claim that your FTP builder is going to give people an accurate reading of their functional threshold power, then you should be willing to explain how it works.
Im not asking for much, just a little bit of honesty and transparency would be nice. But I guess thats too much to ask from a company thats more interested in selling subscriptions than in actually helping people improve their cycling. So, Zwift users, have you actually seen any improvement in your cycling from using the FTP builder, or is it just a bunch of hype?
