Why do so many of you insist on using Zwifts power curve for season planning when its been proven time and time again that its nothing more than a rough estimate. Cant you see that youre wasting your time trying to tailor your training to a generic, one-size-fits-all model that doesnt take into account your individual physiology, riding style, or goals.
And whats with the constant obsession with watts per kilogram? Do you really think thats the only metric that matters when it comes to cycling performance. What about other factors like endurance, cadence, and technique. Do you just ignore those because they dont fit neatly into your little power curve spreadsheet.
And dont even get me started on the so-called experts who claim that Zwifts power curve is the holy grail of cycling training. Have you seen their credentials. Most of them are just self-proclaimed coaches with no actual experience or qualifications.
If youre going to use Zwifts power curve, then at least have the decency to use it as a rough guide, rather than a hard and fast rule. And for goodness sake, dont try to apply it to every aspect of your training. Its just a tool, not a gospel.
Can anyone honestly say that theyve seen significant improvements in their performance solely as a result of following Zwifts power curve. I highly doubt it. And if you do claim to have seen improvements, then Id love to see some actual data to back it up.
Its time to stop blindly following the crowd and start thinking for yourselves. Zwifts power curve is just one tool among many, and its up to you to use it wisely. So, lets hear it, whats your take on Zwifts power curve. Is it the key to cycling success, or is it just a bunch of hype.
