  1. Hi,

I am curious to know if someone, who takes glucosamine, has the same control of BG. I went to Google
and found many references. Some say yes, some say no. I would appreciate if those with experience of
glucosamine can share their experience. It seems that it is very good for arthritis. I always
refused to take it for fear of having problem with BG. Exercises given to me by a physiotherapist
were very good to eliminate the pain and stiffness until now, but lately, the problem with my left
    hand is back.

I would like to take glucosamine for my arthritis but I would hate to wakeup a few days after with
    an uncontrollable BG.

I want to thank you for your future answers.

I cannot answer the blood sugar question since I shoot insulin and thus can overpower any odd
effects of supplements, often without noticing the effects, if any.

I have taken it for two, multi-month trials.

It did nothing for the arthritis in my hands, hips and toes.

I have read references by neutral authors which claim that it will help with knees.

I have two friends, (assistant principal, business executive) who report success with glucosamine
    and knees.

    Regards
    Old Al

  3. No problems here, but it takes several months before you can feel the results. Helped my wrist,
    elbow and knees.

Also be aware that it is not a regulated drug and as a result you can find variables in production
    and thus efficiency.

May be bad for anyone allergic to shellfish (I think).

  5. Old Al,

    Thanks for your answer.

It is my hands that always come back with one thing or another. The other= parts of my body are help
with exercise as long as I do them almost everyday. I= am at a lost with my hands. Sometime it is my
right other time it is my left. R= ight now, it is my left. I do not have much pain, but I am
limited in my movem= ent. I cannot close my index and my major. Many years ago, I was operated for a
= trigger finger on my thump of my right hand. The problem came back a few times an= d for a reason
that I do not understand, the pain would stop. Physiotherapy never= helped my hands. This time, my
hand has been bad since the end of winter. This b= othered me because I was sewing a wedding dress
for my daughter this summer. Pick= ing little pearls with my left hand was sometime a challenge.

I am going to try physio again. I work a lot with my hands.

  6. Marshall,

    Thank you for your answer.

I am glad to see that glucosamine helped you. Old Al was not help at all.=

Maybe he did not take it long enough. I am going to phone a doctor in spo= rt medicine. He
introduced me to physiotherapy, which was a big help to me;= but not on my hands. His office is at
the center. My GP is not strong on phys= io. I go to him whenever I have a pain somewhere. I can
talk to him and he take= s the time to listen. I will take yours and Old Al's answers with me.

Apparently one consumer's magazine has an article on the different compan= ies. I am going to have a
look at the library for it.

  7. Jack,

Thanks. You are the second who answer that there was no problem. That is good.

  9. Thanks, Marshall. I will try to find it in our library.
