  1. From a PTA cookbook

2 cloves Garlic (I assume they mean for it to be diced) 2 bunches green onions ( same as for the
garlic) 2 Tbsp. margarine 3 or 4 oz. can tomato paste
1/2 box orzo ( that is all it says, I have no idea how much. Try 8 oz) 1 can (32 oz) vegetable broth
5 cups fresh basil or 5 tbsp. dried basil

Melt margarine and sauté garlic and green onions until tenser. Add broth, tomato paste and orzo.
Simmer until orzo is done. Add basil, simmer for 10 minutes more. Serve in soup bowls with warm
    crusty bread. Serves 6-8 people

  2. this recipe is perfect. i have some tomatoes and some fresh basil to use up
before they go bad. thanks for posting the recipe. 🙂

Glad to. I got into the "favorite cookbook" thread late and it inspired me to pull out some good
    recipes from odd sources. -nancy-
