Durace 10 BB Installation

They were tight going in...

1. Was this a new frame you installed on?

2. did you lube the threads before hand?

3. They do put locktite in the threads, this makes it tough to install - and ensures that it won't
back off on you.

shimano and Italian since 1997 have always been tough(?)...Take all the yellow gunk/loctite type
stuff off of the cups. Make sure you lube well, including the 'spindle'. If the bearings freeze for
some reason, you are gonna toast the crank...

There is no "spindle" to lubricate as DA10 has cups which you set into the BB shell and the axle
which is attached to right side of the crank sits directly on the bearings which have small seals to
protect from weather.

You keep saying it, but I don't believe it. What is the chance that *anyone* will ever seize a
bb bearing?

same problem here

all three types of the new set up be it xt xtr or dura ace are all suffering the same problem that
if the bb isnt faced and the threads chased the two bearing races will not line up and must be
within a specific concentricity

it seems that if they are out of line the axle will in some really bad cases(and ive just had this
on a 1200 quid bike)not even consider going through the other race
