Sorry for this real novice question, but the thing that stops me from riding more than 50 -60 miles in one go is the pain in my backside. I've tried a few different saddles, from spongy to firm etc. I am now about to try a San Marco Arrowhead Aspide Gelaround on the advice of another cyclist.
What I can not decide about any saddle is the fitting position. What are the rule of thumb guidelines for setting up a saddle, also is there anyway of determining what causes the pain, like seat angle, distance fore and aft etc? I have been trying to find something bearable since I took up cycling over a year ago. When the pain kicks in it effects my back and inner thigh as well as the bits in contact with the saddle.
Cheers,
Kevin.
