Having been very lucky throughout my years of cycling, this season has been a disaster thus far.
In an effort to try to maintain fitness, I decided to join a weekly indoor fottball session consisting of one hour indoor kickabout (5-a-side).
This entails having to run like a maniac for the best part of sixty minutes and it is a very good workout.
before i start each session, i go through an extensive warmup of stretching.
My problems started when having gone for a long spin, the achilles tendons in both legs became very very sore.
In fact they were both so sore, that I could barely walk.
I assumed that this was as a result of playing football and my system not being used to the twisting/turning motion involved in football.
I rested up, applied linament, and waited for the recovery.
To aid the recovery, i went to the local swimming pool hoping that a small amount of swimming might help me.
My achilles tendons gradually started to loosen up and after a couple of days I started to feel better.
I went out for another football session and ended up with the same condition.
Tendons is total [censored] - and being literally unable to walk.
Having never suffered from tendonitis/heavy legs, I am at a loss as to what the solution to this.
Realistically I should be able to participate in both sports without any difficulty.
have any of you suffered from severe tendonitis> And if so did you derive a solution to your problem?
Thanks in advance.
