Is anyone here on friendly terms with Ben Goldacre, of the Bad Science column in teh Grauniad?
You'll only get him interested if the science is bad. Whilst I'm sure he'd share your view, the manipulation of statistics is hardly news.

He does write on that thought; bad methodology, selective sampling, sample bias all appear in his column.
I've googled his site (badscience.net) for references to cycle helmets before as I thought it was the kind of thing he might do, and he's mentioned them once in passsing - he compares some other mildly dubious practice to "like selling cycle helmets: slim evidence, but not exactly pushing crack to children" or something like that. -- Robin Johnson http://rdouglasjohnson.blogspot.com
