Saw one of these close up for the first time this weekend, and
wondered at the time if they were availbale for general sale to the
public - turns out they are (but it doesn't say how much it would set
    you back)

Probably not everyones cup of tea, but I couldn't help thinking it
would make a pretty smart winter bike - certainly ticks a few boxes,
hub gears, puncture proof tyres, awesome loading capabilities.

Maybe even a bit more theft-proof with the Royal Mail logos (depending
upon the town your in!) Who'd steal the post-man's bike?

Anyone ever bought or tried one?

    Regards,

    Duncan

It used to be the case that they said you couldn't buy it in red with
the logo, but the same design was available to the general public with
    different colours: http://www.pashley.co.uk/products/pronto.html
    But maybe that's changed.

It used also to be said that the GPO had a special size of wheel and
tyre, to make the bike less easy to use if nicked.
